My Brother Leon
16 November, 2005
Author: Ben Franklin
My Brother,
your sweet and caring,
an angel sent down to look after me,
sent down to sing your laughter for me.
You have problems,
but you always have a smile on your face,
when Im down you always bring me up
and take away that bitter taste.
You nearly died two years ago on that
hospital bed,
you had a seizure,
fell to the ground
and cracked your head.
You had bleeding on the brain
and they didnt expect you to make it through the night,
I went to the chapel,
poured out my heart,
asked god to give you more energy to fight.
I slept in the bed next to you
keeping a watchful eye,
when you started snoring
I had a quite cry.
I woke up the next morning
and you were just staring at me with
a big lovely grin,
as if to say "Ben,you prayed
and I was saved by Him".
The bleeding healed up completely,
and we went home that day,
Brother and God I love you...thats all I wanted this poem to say.
------- Author's Notes -------
This is exactly what happend two years ago middle of march. My brother is handicaped(complications at birth). We have been to orlando many times,I enjoyed it the most when I was younger(what kid doesnt). Last year I didnt want to go, just felt a bit old for all that, but we couldnt let my brother down as he falls in love with the place everytime. |

Meridian (152.163.100.197) -- Wednesday, November 16 2005, 02:04 am Hey B! Very emotional, very stirring. God must've been watching over him, especailly after it was confirmed that your brother had some bleeding on the brain. And you know, some people believe that if God doesn't heal their friend or their loved one, then He doesn't exist. As hurtful as it may seem, we just have to realize that God is not a magician---if it's their time to go, it's just their time to go. But I really, really love your poem! B, can you say hello to your brother for me! |

Ben f (82.2.255.18) -- Thursday, December 8 2005, 09:04 pm the most emotional time I have ever had. To be told that he wont make it through the night, and that you only have a few hours left with your brother is hard, you just go numb, and think "nah, this cant be true".But he got through it I thank god. thanks for reading John. |
