A Lifetime Ago
17 November, 2005
Author: Tammy
Crystal waters flow quitely as shadows dance from the trees. The sun baking our skin, scorching leaves lay around us. Echos of the birds bouncing from branch to branch. My toes dug deep within the dirt, and your arms wrapped around me. I remember those days, the feeling of love. When happiness filled my soul, and when laughter escaped my lungs. The days of our youth... a time of freedom. A time of being wild, when we wasn't afraid to take a dare. I felt so alive, so loved... just being with you. Those days never to be forgotten as long as I still breath. Oh how I do miss those days, My tank tops and mini skirts. My face all painted up just to please your eyes. Rosey red lips that you couldn't wait to taste. A hunger deep within ourselves, a passion so satisfying. Sneaking out of bedroom windows just to spend a night together, and me trying to figure out a way to sneak back in before the house streamed with voices. Going through the whole day with you in my thoughts, while your cologne still clinged tightly to my flesh. Trying to make it through the hours until I could be with you again. Those were the yesteryears of our youth. My thoughts still carry those memories, even though holding you was a lifetime ago. |

It reminds me of another poet on this site and her situtation dealing with her husband's loss as well. This is an outstanding story, Tammy! Ah, the memories...if only we could relive the happy times of our past... Outstanding again Tammy! |
