The Voice Behind Folded Hands
1 December, 2005
Author: William Bill Jones
Father, help me to bear this cross,
To not only bear it today but for the days yet to be.
For I have faith in You Great Lord,
Faith that this cross will never seem too heavy for me.
I hope to carry this cross with honor,
To carry it with honor even when doubt seems to call,
I pray to be like Your Son, my Savior Jesus,
To continue with undying perseverance to rise when I fall.
Grant me the courage of St. Michael,
To listen to You, to have the courage to follow what I know is right.
As St. Michael cast Lucifer out of Heaven,
Help me cast away him as he tries to tempt me with all his might.
Bless me o’ Lord with the innocence of Mary,
Help me strive to be like her, to please You Lord with how I live,
For she is the Blessed Mother who loves with passion,
Help me when I am fouled by others to be divine like Mary and forgive.
This I pray to you my Father,
Forgive me for my sins Lord, for in Your hands I place my soul,
Thank You Lord, for listening.
Grateful am I to have a God that completes me and makes me whole!
Amen
