The Promise
1 December, 2005
Author: William Bill Jones
Every time you look in the mirror,
Thinking for the day what you have to do,
Take a minute to realize to yourself,
That in some little way I am with you.
I’m the beautiful sunrise starting your day,
I’m the gentle breeze flowing past your way.
I’m the bright blue sky, at which you often stare,
You may not realize it, but in some way I am there.
I’m the cloud up high taking an animal’s form,
I’m the blessed sunshine that keeps you warm,
I’m the colorful leaves waving on the tree,
You may not realize it, but yes it is me.
I’m the sand on the beach spread out for miles,
I’m in the children’s laughter, their innocent smiles.
I’m the wide ocean so breathe taking a heavenly blue,
You may not realize it, but that’s me there with you.
I’m the beautiful sky as the sun gets relieved by the moon,
I’m the mystical stars that never seem to come out all too soon,
I’m the sound of that cricket you often might hear,
You may not realize it, but with you I am near.
I’m the joy in knowing you’ve survived another day,
I’m the floor you kneel on, before bed, as you pray,
I’m the safety and security you have as you rest without a care,
Realize it my child, I am God and for you I will always be there.
