Holding On
25 December, 2005
Author: Clive B Ringshall
Together we once held on so tight,
Together our kisses tasted right,
Together hugs were so tight,
Holding you brought me closer to love than before,
Holding you I found a feeling so secure,
Holding you I felt a heart beat become as one,
Dreams they come and go,
With you my dream stayed the same at night,
Together we held hands and kissed,
The flickering of candle light was enough to burn bright,
My soul captured your feelings of desire
Those rapture nights we shared love together then,
Our love was meant to grow,
Then on a day you chose,
It ended as bright as it had begun,
As the I in we part,
Friends we are at a distance it seems,
I’ll hold a thought you’ll one day return,
I’ll hold on you’ll love me as I do you,
I’ll hold on to the thoughts we could have grown,
I’ll hold on
