Candle Lit Sky
28 December, 2005
Author: Ben Franklin
A year ago mother nature showed us that
we are helpless against her,
A year ago mother nature made us
resent her,
A normal morning of beauty,
A normal morning with an amazing sunrise,
but on the horizon an ever so powerfull
prensence lies.
Families getting ready to embrace the day,
many religious backrounds heading to their place
of worship to pray.
Traders getting ready to earn their keep,
night before party people still in bed
trying to catch some sleep.
Children at the table with mum and dad eating breakfast,
eager to hit the luke warm ocean.
A view from the hotel window shows an unusual tide,
A few seconds later people are crying and screaming why,
A year on and they are simply remembered as candles in the sky.
------- Author's Notes -------
I watched as the candles of loved ones were let off in to sky,and I realised that we dont have much time on this earth. Take each day as a blessing, keep ya head up and keep that love alive. To the tsunami victims rest in peace. |
