Together
30 December, 2005
Author: Clive B Ringshall
If my hand held out strong,
Would you take it to keep?
If my eyes look upon your gaze,
Would you accept my love?
If my words spoke only for you,
Would you take them and hold on tight?
If I shared my soul with your every touch,
Would you take me in your warmth?
If I told you tonight our friendship means much more,
Would you show me my words you longed for?
As we grow together even more these days,
Can we together make it more plain?
Our love was found in heaven long ago,
Our love was cherished until we grew,
Our love was nurtured by those we both held in thought,
Then, that day we both did meet,
A little of that cared for love struck my heart,
I was attracted to you like no other,
Before long we sat we talked,
We moved closer never apart,
Then as the years did pass,
Never noticed we had grown old to the touch,
Buried you and I wept,
Now a year passed and I still weep,
I see those times we shared each other,
Places I bet our youngsters would cringe,
I remember the walks where promises we made,
As I lay you flowers daisies your Favourite,
My tears follow them to comfort your earth,
Knowing you’ll be there, to take my hand,
I’ll be along soon my love,
I’ll be along soon.
