Seventeen years.
That's how long I've been around for.
Seventeen long years,
Walking around with a smile plastered over my face.
A radiant smile,
Able to brighten up many a dark room.
But I wonder,
How long until the light flickers out?
How long before the radiance ceases to shine,
And the crimson tears begin to spill over?

Seventeen years.
That's how long I've been around for.
Seventeen long years.

Mr.mike

I gather from the poem that you have been putting on a front for a long time(correct me if im wrong)you dont always have to do that,If you hide your feelings inside for a huge amount of time, then they can really start eating at you.

hope you enjoyed the hoildays, and ya birthday!!happy b day to you!

Mm, a front.. I suppose you could say that. I dunno, it's just hard to carry on smiling all the time. But I have to, otherwise everyone worries and starts asking me all this crap which makes it worse. And thanks for the compliments..

Mm.. (choried your word for a second there but I mean it in a thinking way) "walking around with a smile plasted over my face" that reminds me of what I have to do with my dad's family. So I can say I know slightly what you feel. Erm... i've never been good at commenting poems or songs, and it's impossble for me to place my feelings onto paper like this.. so all I can say it I love this poem for the elements in it.
