Don't Blink
23 September, 2002
Author: David
stench burns my nose
been here before
Though it's been a while
feel it closing in
I here Him say
"Don't blink
the illusion will pass"
I've learned a lot since the last time
vowed it would never go the same
another opportunity
make it right this time
this time the cup will not pass
until I've drained it dry
I cry out to the example
"Here I am
The peg board is mine"
the nail drove deep
pinning me down
second guesses and doubt
mount a final go
I writhe and squirm
bound one last time
and then...
I hear Him say
"Don't blink
The illusion will pass"
