I Can't Follow
6 January, 2006
Author: Seizure
You helped raise me up when I was just a kid
You always forgave me no matter what I did
You always helped out and made me see the light
When my parents didn't care if I'd turn out alright
When I was late to school you were the one in my face
When I needed a friend you were in the right place
I got attached to you, and you know it's true
And if I didn't have you I don't know what I'd do
When I was a teen, I was thrown on the street
Scrounging to survive, I felt cold, never heat
You wanted to help, but I couldn't let you
I had to do it by myself to keep my honor true
I was starving, I was hungry, that's not a child's past
I shot up every drug, man, now I was fading fast
You told me go to college and you told me leave that place
When I finally did it there was a smile on your face
At my college graduation you were in the front row
We aren't blood related, but you felt you had to go
You drove across the country just to see my degree
And you took me out to dinner hoping better things for me
I did it all for you, and you saw me to the end
You felt so proud of me, you were more than just a friend
The greatest gift one could give was the love that you shared
I don't want you to ever think that I just never cared
You went for a checkup and it turned out you had cancer
You prayed and asked God but you didn't get an answer
It killed me deep inside, you don't know how much I tried
But I couldn't make it out there until after you died
I made it to your tombstone when tears poured from my eyes
And I fell upon my knees, but I couldn't give goodbyes
All my words sounded empty, man they seemed so hollow
I made it here too late and you're where I just can't follow

ShyHeart (4.226.222.165) -- Monday, January 9 2006, 07:17 pm Seiz, I missed you and can see, by these words, you have stoped slaying dragons and storeing decaying bodies in you heart. Weclcome back to the fold of souls, that share their hearts. I'm sure that Dee, looked up at you and said, you are welcome as you cried, no one but you Seiz, knows why you cried and released your soul. Welcome Back, My old, young friend! |
