The Civilized Circus
20 January, 2006
Author: Anjali Thapa
"Male cats eat their kids"
Says the scientist.
The hawker?
"Newborn buried alive
Under the bridge".
Our world is civilized.
This circus of sinners.
Lives are evaluated,
In money and times.
Conjurors or docs?
The circus offers free titles-
"Disgraceful Mothers",
"Irresponsible Fathers"
Difficult relationships.
And succulent headlines for the newspaper.
