Once More

Crimson flashing lights
Speeding down the street
A battered and broken body lies upon the pallid gurney
Vacant eyes met mine for an instant
Tears welling up within
Head hung low
Cast down and out
Overcome with shame
Once More
Holding an icy hand within my own
Listening to the story you tell
The anger swells within my breast
Blood boiling
Pulse racing
Adrenaline kicking in
Once More
Racing down the highway
Sirens wailing
Insane thoughts running through my tormented mind
Plotting horrific revenge
Seeking vindication for a family torn apart
Once More
Pacing in a cold dank corner of the ER
Listening to your cries
As they patch up your bruises
And cast your broken bones
I conjure up an image of his face
The arrogant smirk
His goading stare
True to form
The madman walks off without a care
Once More
