I Love The Skin I'm In
26 January, 2006
Author: Marion Carroll
I love that I'm a woman, and I take good care of me.
And I embrace the challenges that shape my destiny.
I love that I'm intelligent; I'm proud to let it show.
I pray that wisdom guides me on each path I choose to go.
I love that I have made mistakes; I know they keep me humble,
and fill me with compassion when my friends around me stumble.
I love how life has taught me that I'm precious and unique,
and how my soul finds courage to stand tall when I feel weak.
I love that strength of character is etched upon my face,
and how my kindness to myself has helped me age with grace.
I love to make good choices, and I let love light the way;
and my heart keeps me gentle in the things I do and say.
I love how my reflection glows from beauty deep within,
because the mirror reflects how much I love the skin I'm in.

A few years ago, Oil of Olay sponsored a poetry contest and I wrote this but never sent it in. I should have. |

MC (205.188.117.65) -- Sunday, March 12 2006, 11:10 pm I keep looking in the mirror and asking that person who is staring back at me "Who ARE you?", cos she doesn't look like what I remember I looked like!!! It's all good. (!) If I could just move the belly fat up to the bra area, I'd eliminate the need for thousands in plastic surgery...and have the body I always dreamed of when I was young and skinny. But, I'm just grateful that my body still works, and I can do all the things I need to, without assistance. Maybe I'll still send it in to them...they may still be interested in using it. |
