Lost Souls
26 January, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Head throbbing, veins protruding
Feels as though my brain may burst
Light pains my eyes
Darkness is preferable
Sheltered in denial
You wrap yourself up in him
The blanket of lies you tell, fall upon deaf ears
Silence is all that escapes from my lips
I see him lurking in the shadows
Ready to pounce upon his ever dependent prey
Your foolish heart unbars the door
Soul murder has begun
You reach out to me
Mother's touch has turned stone cold
My baby, my child
I can no longer embrace
Pain reflected in your eyes
Tears raining down ashen cheeks
My lips are sealed, words of love left unspoken
As I turn and walk away
------- Author's Notes -------
Written for my daughter. Expresses my feelings regarding an abusive relationship. |
