For Mom
30 January, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Cornflower blue eyes appear upon the canvas
Cobalt hair cascades in waves across slender shoulders
A generous smile adorns her lovely face
A willowy form stands straight and tall
Poised amongst the clouds
In a sapphire tinted sky
Silhouetted in vivid golden hues
Slender fingers reach out from the mist
Extending open hands
And outstretched arms
To those she once held dear
Brush in hand
A picture I shall paint
Of one I lost so long ago
As time goes by
Her image will remain
Forever
She is etched upon my heart
------- Author's Notes -------
Written in response to a conversation with my sister regarding our mother, who passed away when we were very young. |
