Yesterday I looked in your eyes
And I saw the years ahead.
With you and me together
And our children in their beds.
I saw us growing older,
More in love with every day.
And every other reason
That I know I have to stay.
As you looked at me
I knew you saw it too.
'Cause you grabbed my hand and said
"I'm gonna marry you".
Your eyes were so sure, so true
Never looking away,
I could see that our love had grew.
Then somehow at the same time
We both said "I'm in love with you".
That was just yesterday
But I know things will never change
Except that in a year or two
I'll be carrying your last name.
