Face Down In The Street
13 June, 2002
Author: David Soriano
Everyone turned and laughed
While tears ran down my face.
My wife turned to me and said
"They are high on the sting".
Unafraid to express my emotions
Unafraid to let my heart and soul live
I will live life on my terms
I will be the man I am.
I had been cold as steel
I now know how empty I'd been
Since that crazy war, I refuse
To live according to society's whims.
The derelict
Lying in the street
He was the Lord
Testing me again.
