Moving On
13 February, 2006
Author: Vampyr Tears
I tell myself I’m over you,
Because sooner or later,
I’ll have to believe it’s true.
I won’t remember how your hands felt,
Cool against my skin,
Placed lightly on my hips.
I’ve already forgotten your touch.
I won’t remember your pale, soft lips
Murmuring hushes words of unconditional love.
I’ve already forgotten your kiss.
I won’t remember those ice blue eyes,
How they could peer into my soul.
I could get lost in your gaze.
I’ve already forgotten your stare.
I’m over you.
I’ve moved on.
In fact, I can’t even recall who you are.
(Oh, how I hate lying to myself.)
