The Dinner Party

vinebar

Aromas of garlic, oregano and basil pervade the lively room
The fragrance of roses and amaretto floating
Through the air at dusk
Soft candlelight casting shadows
Creating a wistful ambiance

Strawberries laced in sumptuous chocolate sauce
Arousing the senses
Fine wine in crystal clear goblets
Poised gracefully amidst slender fingers

Slivers of red devil’s cake
On a rouge tinted platter
Passed around the cozy room
Consumed with such delight

A night cap of amaretto
A tender toast of love and friendship
Echoes through this tranquil space
As we part and go our separate ways

Alone now, yet lost in a comforting embrace
Surrounded in a warm and loving glow
Wrapped in the blanket of friendship
Swept away in this final moment of bliss
