Rosie’s Crossword
16 February, 2006
Author: Ben Franklin
Back in the day I was full of
Energy and life,
Then in 1958 I calmed down when I met Percy
And became his Beloved wife
Myself and Percy were almost joined at the hip,
But he did get Jealous when I was at work
Behind the bar flirting with the Fella’s,
But hey, I did get good tips!
Whilst growing old together
My legs did become a bit sore,
I was not that active energy filled Rosie anymore.
Sadly, Percy past away,
I will never forget the day,
1999 17th of May.
When Percy died,
This house just did not feel like home,
I felt Useless,
Isolated and alone.
I fell over the other day
And it took me 5 hours to get up to the bed,
I sometimes wish Percy was here and I was dead instead.
The paper boy never delivered today,
All I wanted was the crossword,
It’s sad that I’ve been robbed of such a simple Pleasure,
But at least I will see My Percy soon,
That’s one thought I shall Treasure.
