Delta Blues
1 July, 2002
Author: David Soriano
They surely don't come when called
I'm not rushing for nothing
Bid my loving heart
To still and take a stand
After all this time
Just let the night be quiet
The mood of blue
Whispers to the willing mind
A main stream audience
Of blues-seeking lovers
Learned to play the guitar
On the Georgia street corners
"Gotta Let You Go"
Was one of my first numbers
Emotionally charged solo
Matched to rough-cut rural vocals
Sax sections on occasion
Coupled to the big band sessions
A natural beat in perfect tune
Crying out such so sad words
The mournful cry touching their souls
Will make such sad and steady tears
