Creatures Of The Night
19 February, 2006
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
There is trouble afoot in the rocky glen
The horrors are told of half dog half men
Even fairy folk give way when the evil comes near
These angry creatures give all something to fear
Where they came from folks aren't sure
But they walk these woods; there is no place secure
Ugly and brutal, in the thickets they prowl
If you listen in the distance you can hear their growls
As the full moon soars through the darkened sky
The men take watch; women with children hide and cry
As the night goes on more horrors unfold
They show no mercy to young or to old
Flesh ripping from bone in a frenzy is heard
In the morning silence walks, not speaking a word
There was nothing to say, nothing anyone could do
Reality of legend; lycanthropic stories hold true
Daylight arrives and the moon time is past
They begin to walk among us; quite a contrast
You may not believe, but the tales heard are true
Don't worry you're safe... least 'till the next full moon comes to view
