The Endless Summer
5 June, 2002
Author: David Soriano
The pair of loving swans
Lily pads and iridescent dragon flies
Morning glories waiting for the sun
It's summer
The gazebo in the park
Pitched tents and the old horseback trail
Humming birds and a fast tracking pheasant
Yes, its summer.
Volley ball nets and poison ivy
The swimming pools along with tanning lotion
Barbecue pits with the unmistakable aroma
Yes, it's the height of summer.
Fireworks and flying geese
Parade with marching bands
The 4th of July
Finally, another golden summer.
After the winter we had
The frustrations, untimely setbacks
And the miserable weather
This will be the one we want, an endless summer
