Building Block

Author: Clive B Ringshall
When we started new, slow steps we took,
Closer we grew and some secrets we said,
Days went by and years soon flew too,
Our lives became one with nothing to hide,
Arm in arm we kissed goodnight,
Hand in hand you drifted away,
When asked why,
I’m still here close by,
You’d lovingly reply,
With a smile I’d feel you hiding a lie.
With a smile I felt my trust now betrayed,
Trust now crumbled as its foundations fell,
Trust was missing when you looked into my eyes,
In holding your hand my mind thought of the lies,
In holding your hand my thoughts invaded my mind,
The trust I once held was not to be found.
Sorry you said to make things right,
Sorry you said now trust me again,
Sorry I am that trust walked away,
Sorry I am it will not just appear,
Time will pass and time will tell,
If I can trust in you like before,

anon (128.123.220.10) -- Saturday, March 11 2006, 04:11 pm It takes so long to build trust. Sadly it can be destroyed in a moment. But when two people really love each other and both are willing to rebuild "it is possible". Depends on how committed the couple is to the relationship. Don't give up HOPE! |
Terrie* (66.81.137.224) -- Saturday, March 11 2006, 11:38 pm Hi Clive, i agree w/anon trust cain easily be lost , BUT... because " REAL LOVE " is concrete there is NEVER a loss or a doubt...a steppin' stone to Remember, the " Strength of Faith sees the Invisible, Believes the Unbelievable and Receives the Impossible " great write my friend.. |
Meridian (151.199.150.95) -- Monday, March 13 2006, 07:22 am Hola Clive the poet! Sad to say this, although it's true, you can't trust in no man or woman. Wife. Husband. Cousin. Best Friend. Mom. Dad. Siblings. Pastor. Minister. The title of a person doesn't determine their trust. Trust is a sensitive word.... Realistic poem. Right on target my poet! Fantastico! |
