Call Of The Wild
11 March, 2006
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
A room full of recognizable strangers
In a wave of dis-illusion
Listening to abstract conversation
Knowing all that are still strangers
A friendly hello
Splits the face into smiles
Wanting to belong.. but not
Just another casual hello
I want to talk
But there is nothing to say
Afraid to say the wrong things
I just enjoy the small talk
Should be home
Avoiding the call of the wild
Addicted to watching
I should really go home
------- Author's Notes -------
Addictions come in many flavors. I enjoy watching people, all the things they do. I watch without judgement. There is never a dull moment when it is filled with a reality of people. |
