New Beginnings

She is not who she appears to be
To others or herself
Traveling back in time
In search of the girl, she left behind
Peasant skirts and Birkenstocks no longer seem to fit
Nor does the skin
She now finds herself in
She’s not the girl she used to be
No longer innocent and carefree
Not militant, nor conservative
She’s somewhere in the middle
Attempting to define a new sense of self
Life has become a puzzle
Pieces are missing, others discarded
Somewhere along the way
She knows who she’s not,
And who she’d like to be
Getting there is another story, entirely
A long unidentified road lies in between
As this middle-aged woman dares to dream her own dreams
Placing one foot in front of the other
Back to the perilous wind
She vows to trudge forward
Embarking on the journey
She alone has the power to begin

YOU CAN DO IT. I HAVE FAITH IN YOU TOO

You are a strong woman and can face anything that is thrown in your path. Good luck my friend.
