The Letter
12 March, 2006
Author: Catyrose
The card came in the mail today
I couldn’t believe my eyes
So many years, so many tears
For you to realize
The damage you had done
You now wish to repair
Acknowledging the sin
Committed upon one’s heart
Apology for all the years
That we have spent apart
I held the letter in trembling hands
The tears began to flow
So many years, so many tears
I’ve waited for this day
Pictures flash through my mind
Of those nights I left behind
I wish I could forgive
The injustice of it all
When you stood tall
And I was still so very small
