When I'm Gone
14 March, 2006
Author: Taylor James
(Co-written with Meridian)
Think of me when I'm gone
Don't let the parade go without song
Don't look up and cry
Because, my suffering will be over when I die
I'll be on a cloud, just floating by
Living forevermore above, in that azure sky
Catching moonbeams in the Heavens on high
So don't mourn when it's time to say goodbye
Don't waste any tears
Concentrate on your own hopes and fears
Don't let my death cause your life to decline
Continue to live your life, don't grieve over mine
I mean, don't forget me when I'm off the scene
But don't dwell on my departure, I'll be serene
I'll probably be playing the Harp up there for all I know
I'll visit you periodically, just look for my glow
Unlike Methuselah, too bad we can't live to be 969
This year may be my time, just by looking at the signs
So think of the days we spent together having fun
Because tomorrow isn't promised to no one
Recall the times I made you smirk and crack up with laughter
Think not of me just on today, but the day after
If God decides that it's over, then just be ready
When that tragic day approaches, continue to be steady
Be that warrior I know so well, combat that urgency
Celebrate the years I've spent living, shake off that anxiety
Because keep in mind, so a man thinketh so is he
So never succumb to that feeling of inconsequentiality
Don't cry over my death
You've got alot to do so take a breath
Don't think of me as gone
Coz I'll be there when you play our song
Don't worry about the day
I already know where I'm gona stay
I will always be around
Just walking through the empty grounds
Our souls will always be in touch
So please don't worry as much
I may be reborn into a beautiful new form
So I'll always be with you throgh the raggid storms
So still be strong stay alive
There's no need to worry I aint shy
Each day is a brand new day
So you'll have every chance to rid the pain
Okay here we go one more time
I'm telling you I'll be fine
So please...
Erase the tears of mourning
