Growing Pains
16 March, 2006
Author: Catyrose
I never meant to hurt you
You must believe its true
Yet lately I have come to see that I am worthy too
So many years now I’ve held the pain inside
Afraid to speak my mind
Always trying to be kind
I’m grateful for the good times
Yet I cannot dismiss
The subtle jabs
The lies and underhanded tricks
I know it may not be conscious
Yet it hurts all the same
I’m searching for a life filled with far less pain
I thank you for the lessons,I have learned
I hope you’ll understand
It was finally time to live life
On my own terms
