Beneath The Surface
17 March, 2006
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Silence me
Make me conform
To something I am not
Nor will I ever be
Fear me
For I am different
But I am of no danger
I hurt no one
Ignore me
I will go away
As others have before me
History repeats
Forget me
I am really no one
I am no different than you
It's only an illusion
Bury me
Beneath prejudice
Hide me in your ignorance
I am forever

Meridian (71.241.10.241) -- Friday, March 17 2006, 10:16 pm I'm learning that a few mini paragraphs can speak more than two pages worth of poems....depending on how powerful the statement conveyed, like this poem here! This is poem is so good! Grand poem Dreamer, just grand! |
Dreamer (67.38.178.171) -- Saturday, March 18 2006, 12:37 am Thanks all, Yes Meridian, alot can be said with well chosen words put together in "stanzas". That is the fun of poetry. Playing with the words to make them say what you want. I like playing with poems within poems. Did you find any? |
Meridian (205.188.117.65) -- Sunday, March 19 2006, 10:22 pm Hey Dreamer! No, I haven't found them yet. I'm still searching. However, when the time comes, you'll be seeing a submitted poem coming from me regarding that...:) |
