I Thought

I thought a little harder today,
Of all the things that hold true,
Of everything in my life,
Everything that I’ve gone through.

I thought about you today,
Every memory we have shared,
Every kiss you’ve been apart of,
Every hug you’ve ever beared.

I thought about my dad today,
His welcoming & warm smile,
The things we did together,
How I haven’t seen him in a while.

I thought about dying today,
How life is overwhelming,
How much further I must go,
Why I’m always dwelling.

I thought about God today,
How you’ve always been there,
Answered almost all my prayers,
Shows just how much you care.

I thought about my feelings today,
I’m so confused and consumed,
Caught up in my train of thought,
How I feel my life is doomed.

I thought about freedom today,
My life isn’t as bad as it may sound,
My pain somehow gets lifted,
The Lord picks me up off the ground.

I thought about starting new today,
No remorse or guilt ever again,
No feeling sorry for someone else,
Starting new from a different end...
