Beloved Immortal

God took the finest marble and carved you from it's beauty.
It glistened as the sun shone through the stone.
Illuminated by the light, it's one flaw was revealed:
a fissure through your heart, so overgrown.
He made you strong and tall, with classic male attraction,
a face and body women would adore;
then gave to you a mind, with keen intelligence,
and sparked a buring fire, to explore.
He meant for you to do great things, to push beyond your limits;
He meant for you to feel the greatest pain.
He gave you strength to overcome, and confidence to face
each challenge echoing in life's refrain.
And when His work was finished, the Angels gathered round,
and bowed in silent awe at what He'd made.
For standing there before them, was a stunning work of art:
a smiling, blue eyed man. A gorgeous blade.
God breathed new life upon you, and placed a drop of blood,
that started racing through your broken heart.
As you embraced your Father, He said "My son, I love you.
I've just one thing to say before we part".
"I made your heart so large, for you to share my love,
with everyone you meet throughout your life.
I made it broken in advance, so you'd get through the worst,
and not give up, when facing sacrifice."
You understood your mission, and everywhere you went,
you left a brighter path along your wake.
You've been a fine example, for others to admire,
and follow with each forward step they take.
There were times you fell upon your knees, and clutched your heart,
and begged to make the pain, just go away.
The times you thought you were alone, He sent someone to love you,
to reaffirm your purpose every day.
Each road you've traveled, left you weary, yet onward you have gone.
And still you've found a reason to believe,
that every trial, ever faced, was part of His great plan,
that He set forth and helped you to achieve.
For all the world has known of you, there's more unseen, within.
A depth, that one or two, will ever know.
Some guess at all the mystery, some shake their heads in wonder.
When others failed, you knew which way to go.
You never had to preach the Word. Your actions spoke much louder.
And many lives were blessed for kowing you.
You'll never be forgotten: the love of God in legacy,
will long perpetuate, when life is through.
God will welcome home His son, and place you in the stars,
to guide your progeny, when you are gone.
And those of us, whose lives you've touched, will ever long remember,
the beauty of the things you've said and done.
This writer has been priviledged with silent observation,
I've glimpsed at Heavens promise, through your portal.
Your eyes betray the burdened heart, that makes you what you are:
A Beautiful man. A most Beloved Immortal.
