In-between

Bought a box of Clairol today
And away went the grey
Applied a bit of under eye cream
As a part of my aging regime
Vitamin K claims it will
Erase the spots of dark and light
Almost overnight
Purchased Slim-Fast by the case
In an effort, to decrease the size of my waist
Time to shed a few pounds
Before I become so very round
Under garments with under wire
Have become a part of my daily attire
Doctor’s appointments and dermabrasion
Are becoming everyday occasions
As I struggle to be young and lean
Living life on the in-betweens
No longer young nor very old
I’m simply doing what I’ve been told
------- Author's Notes -------
Just my response to our culture's admonition that as women we need to maintain a youthful appearance, no matter the cost, financial or otherwise! |

To see the beauty a woman hold, to notice the beauty she portrays from within, To notice the grace she holds within her heart,To see these qalities she posses in her soul, This is what counts in the woman I'll adore |
