A Rose That Never Wilts
29 March, 2006
Author: Ing Twi Demalah
All good things tis said must end
life whether fast or slow passes by the hour
Time with her fiendish teeth seeks all for to devour
Wilting every man and tree and flower
Yet a rose with blue-green eyes
With hair soft as a hatchling’s down
Drives away the loneliness, the heart ache, the frowns
So I take time to see my rose this precious thing I’ve found
And asks my flower still
One very strange question you see
Though confessed by her own lips a friend I be
Why ever are you so kind to me
My rose because of how you make me feel
Giddy and week for surely you must know
For those brief moments in your presence rose
When I am both a coward and a hero

Perhaps it was more than my pen writing this poem. I just so enjoy tking time to stop and smell the roses, the roses in my life however, are rarely flowers. :-) |
