Catching Fairies

Place your tiny hand in mine
Together we shall travel over hill and dale
In search of the fairies, so fair
Come along now if you dare
Reach out and catch a fairie
As they float on by
Moonbeams lighting up the night sky
Whisking us away
To the land where fairie folk do play
Listen to their tunes upon the wind
Inviting us to join on in
Frolicking through the night we’ll dance and sing
Entranced by the fairies and their incandescent wings
Darling child we’ll play till dawn
Awakening safe and sound
Snuggled closely in our bed
Carefree and light hearted
N’er a sense of dread
Wide awake now
You’ll turn to me and smile
Recalling how we glimpsed the fairies
For just a little while
