The Spiral

Author: Seizure
I have no desire to rhyme every word
Only to speak up and just make it heard
I've fallen down this spiral since the day of my birth
I've been plagued with questions that fade my worth
What's so different in a thief or slut?
Everything piles on and makes a deeper cut
I used to stab I used to cut, I used to scrape I used to shut
The whole world out and not give a fuck
I thought what I wanted was to be all alone
Until I woke and, I was all on my own
Living the life most only read in a book
It's the faded path that my own life took
So what will change now? What will stay the same?
I can tell you this, it'll all be pain
In the darkness of this tunnel will I see a light?
I've lost all my strength, I've no will to fight
It's my downward spiral that never hits the floor
It just sinks deeper than it ever did before
And I tried so hard and I tried so long
And I know my efforts end up being wrong
So what is the point should I try some more?
I've given it my all now my whole body's sore
The Spiral's killed more than anyone before
It's always on the creep wanting just one more
There's no way up, just a way to slow down
You yell as loud as you can but it doesn't make a sound
The world's moving on and you're turning into dust
And there's no one in the world that you know you can trust
There's nothing left for you and there's nothing left to do
You can't stand the pain that is running you through
Some think depression could be something viral
When it's just another victim of the downward spiral
