Dance little Latvian girl !
The steps you take
are in you
for a thousand years
now-
Your braided hair with
flowers
twirls
along with your skirts-
winding back in time-
a rhythmn that
runs through your blood...
Dance away
the oppressions
intrusions
invasions
Dance away the sorrows
of your homeland.
Dance into victory
peace
healing
The steps you take
soothe.
You are dancing happiness-
dancing with the winds
of the Daugava River that
sweetly carress Riga and the
four provinces.
Dance Dance Dance
little Latvian girl !!!
When
you dance-
your
grandmothers
smile...
