Remembrance Of A Victim
26 April, 2006
Author: Seizure
I'm driving to work like any other day
A few hours early but it'll all be okay
I finished my report that my boss needs tomorrow
And my wife is pregnant so there's no time for sorrow!
I drive through the garage like I always do
About the third floor, I still smell the dew
I'm now at the elevator punching in the keys
Seventy third floor, man today should be a breeze
I'm checking email, a day like any other
I got a couple jokes and a note from my mother
She said she's proud of me, I could never let her down
But it's time to get to work, no time to screw around!
Typin' and spacin' changing words that I'm tracin'
I never had a problem pickin' words I'm erasin'
Then my wife called and asked about dinner
"How about a steak?" I said "you picked a winner"
Can this day get any better? I'm at the top of my game!
I never did a thing in life to make me feel shame
I'm walking to the window to take a brief peek
What I saw surprised me to the point I couldn't speak
A plane was flying too low and it's going toward my window
And I try to run away but my muscles are just too slow
As I heard the crash, I knew I'd lived my life
The last thought in my head was "God protect my wife"
