Falling Stars
5 May, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Two little stars, one fine spring eve
Soared through the darkened sky;
Swirling by at break neck speed
Colliding into each other
Falling fast
Wondering if this moment
Would be their last
They both let out a startled cry
The moon above
Gazed down with love
His words fell from the heavens
”Never fear, oh twinkling dears’
The fairy folk will soon appear
To catch you lest you plummet down
Upon the dewdrop ground
Yes, fairies soon will gather near
To wipe away your falling tears”
One fairy dressed in lavender
Another sported indigo
Fairies clustered in a colorful display
Carefully wiped the glistening tears away
Out of the sky
From way on high
Moonbeams drew a shimmering line
Rainbow hankies on display
In a colorful array
Swaying gently in the breeze
This warm springtime eve
The two little stars lie down to sleep
No longer frightened
Nor did they weep
The fairies spell they linger under
Entranced in sweet and peaceful slumber
