Letting Go
7 May, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Longing to be there by your side
To hold your hand
Stroking your cheek
As you drift off into peaceful, eternal sleep
Miles between us are far from few
Yet in my heart, I hold you close
Recalling from time to time
The lessons you taught me in my younger days
From these I shall not stray
A mother by choice, not by birth
Memories of our times together
Flowing through this troubled mind
Of the woman who taught me how to love
God’s angel, sent from the heavens above
A sensitive and shy child I was
Tears fell often from these eyes
Reaching out to patch up this tattered soul
With a gentle touch, she made me whole
Two mothers I’ve had in this life
One strong in spirit, One sweet and kind
Memories of both have kept me afloat, in the difficult times
Often through the course of the day
Their smiles come alive once again
Still holding me close as they did back then
Tears fall from tired eyes
Tonight I am unable to disguise
The sorrow I feel
Deep within my soul
Try as I may
I’m simply not ready to let you go~
------- Author's Notes -------
There was no category for grief, so I listed this under sadness. |

MC (152.163.100.5) -- Wednesday, May 10 2006, 02:07 am I'm sorry for your loss. We're all with you in this time of sadness and grief. She'll always be your Angel, as you are to your own Grand-daughter. Your words reflect the beauty of your heart and soul, and we love you. |
clive (128.123.220.119) -- Thursday, May 11 2006, 12:36 am my dearest friend K, I know this time is hard for you, knowing your mother after her stroke is not finding her way back to independent life. The choices made as a family unit in order to give your mum the best care will not always seem easy or right. Stay strong inside your mum will always know and feel your love. |
Catyrose (128.123.221.83) -- Thursday, May 11 2006, 04:08 am MC and Clive. When i wrote this I didn't even realize that I was writing as if she had already passed on. Yet in a sense she has as she is now a shadow of her former self. So in a sense it is a "death". It would almost be simpler if she was gone, vs. seeing her deteriorate and being placed in a home. Thank you both for your care and support. It means alot to me! |
