Jesus, And The Rose
9 May, 2006
Author: Tammy
The sky did part
the rain came crashing down,
Knocking the little rose
lifeless to the ground.
The earth turned black
the thunder did roll.
The little rose had no shelter
she had no place to go.
The lightning crackled
the fierce wind blew.
The little rose was scared
she didn't know what to do.
The storm it was a brewing
the little rose cried.
The wind was quickly throwing
her, from side to side.
During this mighty storm
she was battered, and abused
The little rose she wept
and she was very confused.
She thought, in my time of distress
how could my Savior abandoned me?
Sobbing, and thinking to herself
how could this even be?
This left the little rose
feeling so very low.
He never loved me I guess
so my faith I'll just let go.
Then Jesus did appear
what's wrong little rose?
My Lord I thought you loved me
but now I just don't know.
Why you think such foolish thoughts?
you know my love is true,
How could you even think that?
You know I shall always love you.
But you wasn't with me
when I needed you most.
You was no where around
no were even close.
Little rose I was with you
I was right by your side.
Through your trials, and troubles
I always protect, and guide.
Look at you little rose
standing so very strong.
You made it through the bitter storm
for I was with you all along.

Terrie* (66.81.136.107) -- Sunday, June 18 2006, 10:25 pm Hi Tammy, so touched by your humbleness, many of us cain relate to your words of the heart, as bein' the rose your heart writes of, sometimes i wonder why he has carried me so far with such great hope ? and then...we pause before the next step ,remindin' us of stepin' stones in life, not stumblin' blocks , but steppin' stones that fall into place as they were meant to be ...beautiful, just beautiful... |

After writing this poem, I read what I had wrote, and it reminds me of the poem "Footprints In The Sand" which is one of my fav poems. God talks to us in many ways and I feel he talks to me through my poetry. Again thank you hun for your lovely comments! |
