This Little Girl
11 May, 2006
Author: Tammy
Looking in this mirror
at this little girl.
She is sad and lonely,
lost in this cruel world.
This little girl hides herself
so no one else can see.
She pretends she's happy
she lives in fantasy.
No one knows her pain
it rolls through her like thunder.
Her life's been nothing but hell
she's been torn asunder.
As she looks in this mirror
her eyes fill with tears.
Seeing this little girl
who's carried scars for years.
Quickly she wipes her tears away
and she begins to smile,
Pretending to be happy
and hurting all the while.

This poem has to do with the little girl inside myself, who is lost, scared, and so alone. |

Catyrose (128.123.220.5) -- Thursday, May 11 2006, 05:01 pm sadly enough many of us live on with the scars from childhood. I really related to this one, Tammy. My little girl at times is lost, scared and feels so all alone. But I try to embrace her and love her today as she should have been so long ago. Another touching poem. Thanks for sharing. |
