Flash Flood
15 May, 2006
Author: Catyrose
Dark clouds looming in the distance
Flashes of light appear in the night sky
Thunder crackles above our heads
Suddenly the clouds burst
Glistening teardrops raining down
Striking upon the old tin roof
The rhythm of the rain
Creation’s tune splashing
Down upon the desert ground
Flowing swiftly
Into earth’s creases
Rupturing the fractured ground
Washing across nature’s pathways
Seeking solace in a higher place
Beating out the same old worn refrain
Upon mother nature’s wisened and weathered terrain
