Neverland

Author: Catyrose
See his shadow on the wall
My, he seems so very tall
A trim figure in tights of green
With a scowl on his brow
He appears quite mean
Don’t be frightened by his haughty demeanor
He lives only to laugh and play
In a moment he’ll whisk you away
To his land of dreams
Filled with little boy’s schemes
His hand is reaching out to you
He’ll promise now with a smile so true
To take you to a magical place
Soon you’ll disappear
Not leaving the slightest trace
Sprinkled now with fairy dust
Grasping his hand with childlike trust
You’ll fly on by in the starry sky
Vanishing in the twinkling of an eye
Landing with both feet on the lush green ground
In a place filled with magic and wonder
Until day dawns and you waken
From another night of enchanted slumber

Meridian (64.12.116.5) -- Tuesday, May 23 2006, 07:05 pm Reminds me of Michael Jackson's "Neverland Ranch"...I don't know if it was because of the title, or the descriptions within the poem, but all in all, you've captured the wonderment of a fantasy land so well! 5 stars for this one! Beautiful! |
