Bitter Support. by Emma-Louise

Feeling like I can’t escape
from the words that come from you.
The problem is that you just can’t relate
to the things I’m going through.

You say that I am insane,
because I still have hope.
You ask how I can do this all again,
how I am able to cope.

The truth is I am still in love,
despite all that I receive.
I trust him when he says we can rise above,
although I have no reason to believe.

I know him better than anyone,
I know what haunts his mind.
I realise that you must have an opinion,
but you don’t know what he keeps confined.

You have barely seen us together,
you have no idea of what is true.
You may hold this grudge against him forever,
but all I ask is that you keep it within you.

I can’t justify the words you said,
your motive is still unclear.
Now before you speak I will always dread
what curses I will hear.

I’m trapped between you both,
wanting the opposite of each other.
This problem I face now, I loathe..
and you’re not making it any easier.

I realise you may be looking out for me,
but your words are nothing but unkind.
I have no support from you, I can barely
speak in attempt to change your mind.

My real friends are a million miles away,
but even their words are special to me.
They know exactly what to say,
because they are supportive instead of bitchy.

Despite the fact that our friendship isn’t physical,
they mean a lot to me and they are true.
People may argue the fact that they aren’t veritable,
but they feel more real than you.
