So It Goes

Captured in-time
in-mid-stride
in-mid-thought
no one asked me if it was okay
MY hair blown to the side
and an unattractive backdrop
of pigeons and lunchers lunching
and a furrow in my brow.
I think the camera caught my eye
and they'll see my ceaseless glare
with disdain on my face
eternal disdain
for posterity to see
those shall wonder what was wrong
IF they get past the smile of the attractive pair
arms locked-tourist glasses
teeth-straight-and-white
Perfect timing on a perfect day
and a perfect backdrop
of flowers blooming
of people enjoying
of fountains flowing
of me
no one asked me if it was okay
to spend eternity
in cousin sarah's photo album
entitled "SuchandSuchandSoandSo"
on a coffee table
MY hair blown to the side
and an unattractive backdrop
of pigeons and lunchers lunching
and a furrow in my brow
