Dearest Mam
14 June, 2006
Author: Capricorn
My spirit was stunned,
when you slipped into darkness
yet I knew you were beckoned
towards the light,
reunited with loved ones.
I’m glad Death’s clock waited
for me to say goodbye.
For years grief gnawed
deep inside my core;
this is the monster’s ultimate bite.
Death has rescued you from
the depths of Alzheimer’s abyss.
My head spins with memories:
our last walk, the hugs we shared
my final whispers by your bed.
I love you Mam
and miss you.
