Hurt Me by Angel Laney

Don't hurt them, hurt me!
I'll take that old cow's place-
I'll sit in for that little puppy
It's true, they have a different face.
But don't we all have hearts that beat?
Who made it common place
To kill an animal and call it meat?
I have a hope, I have a dream
I want to see compassion for every creature walking
No more killing, no more torturing
What did they do to you,
To deserve to go through what they go through?
Crates are so cruel, and so are hot iron blades
Please, let me take their place!
Hang me from my legs and cut my throat
Bash me on the head, like you do the goat
Don't hurt them, hurt me!

Angel, I usually feel the very same way about such things. I mean, that's true! How can they go and kill another living thing without calling it murder? That's just wrong, I know we have to survive, but they should try and find a different at that! I'm with you all the way in this poem, Angel! Thanks for helping me, help them! Great work!

that is a wise and Good point ...the vegetarians and vegans of the world would applaud you on this...some day..they may come across w/an alternative..i mean there's always new inventions involving modern technology...they are still some what behind...takes time money and research...leap of time will tell...by the way great writing...

I agree 100% with you Actually I had just got done a essay in one of my subjects on animal crulity. I just don't understand how they can put such innocent lives in such miserable lives. I live out in a country and that is all I hear about and it just drives me nuts!! That is a Great poem.
