Keep His Memory Alive
25 June, 2006

A son, a child
The memory of a lil boys face
Gone now is his embrace

Share the pain, share the sorrow
That linger deep into tomorrow
Listen to a slain heart’s
That he left behind

A son, a man
warm touch of a hand
Taken from a womb
And now from this life

Share the moments, Share the pride
Keep it all alive
Doesn’t fill an empty heart
Of those he left behind

A son a man
A slap of the umbilical cord
No more phone calls
Tellin’ mom and dad he’s runnin’ late

Share a tear, share a hug
Keep a memory alive
Keep him alive in all hearts
Reach up and let him go with God

A son a child
A love bein’ born
A dream he went searchin’ for
A nightmare
that came to a parent’s door

Share, be there
as difficult as it will be
Help lift a soul up

Embrace a crippled heart
Revive it from a paralyzed freeze
be there please

A son, a man
But still a child in a mothers eyes
Her breath, her heartbeat
Stolen from her heart

Keep his memory alive

Terrie

This brought tears to my eyes. I couldn't have said it any better, myself. I am planning to send condolence letters to the families. May I please send a copy of this along with them? It's simply beautiful. Thank you so much.

MC...no matter how we try to share ,

it caint alliviate their pain nor their loss..
'Aye Luv, with out hesitation ,share it with your heart and mine attached side by side, this was my intent, my reason for writin', when i heard of the tragedy , late at night fall i fought tossin' and turnin'. my heart felt so heavy and completely empty all of a sudden ,i had great difficulty layin' my heart down, i felt the pain of 2 mothers hearts , on how their sons were sadistically torn from them, one in the North and another in the south. and for the many before them and the many more that will sadly be..the words came out as tears that flowed to my pen and this was born. share my condolences as well. You're welcomed my friend..

Beautiful poem, but very sad.

I seem unable to recall the tragedy that this relates to, but it seems to be about the deaths of 2 soldiers. Thank you for caring and for writing this.
I noticed that you posted hundreds of beautiful poems from 2003 to 2006, but suddenly stopped. I noticed also that you have since commented (very kindly) on several of my poems and on many other poems.
I can't help wondering what caused you to stop writing poems. I am also wondering about MC's sudden absence from this site. It's been many months now. She is another outstanding writer whose poems and comments I miss, and I hope she's o.k.
I am trying to get back into this writing thing after many dry months.
Thanks again for this beautiful and touching write.

Thanks,Terrie*

Thanks, and you are welcome. I have written one new poem. (a couple weeks ago) It's named "Private Willie McBride" Nobody has commented on it yet, but I notice that almost none of the new writes get any comments now.
I hope you get back into writing soon too, and God bless you.
