God's Best Laid Plan
8 July, 2006
Author: Marion Carroll
Ten tiny fingers, ten perfect toes,
cheeks soft as satin, aside one button nose.
Two arms, and two legs, two hands, and two feet.
A down covered head, with a face so sweet.
Fringe along the eyes, that flutter and close;
a catapillared beauty, in gentle repose.
A sweet little mouth, puckered up, for a kiss.
Can anything else compare with such bliss?
In my arms they stayed, and fed at my breast,
then slept to the beat of my heart in my chest.
Four times I bore love, but one miracle died;
three Angels grew wings, and now, stand by my side.
I don't need to wonder, and don't have a doubt,
that there's life beyond this, or what it's about.
I've already seen what Heaven contains.
My children are sparks of God's loving refrain.
The song echoes on, with each breath they take,
and all that I've done, has been for their sake.
As they spread their wings and fly on their own,
my soul rejoices, for with them, I've grown.
They've blessed me in ways, they won't understand,
till the day when they hold their own in their hands.
Nothing else in my life, so defined who I am.
The gift of creation, is God's best laid plan.

Tammy (66.38.6.53) -- Sunday, July 9 2006, 12:21 am MC, this is a beautiful poem, made me think back to the day my babes where born, and I held them close to my breast. A mothers heart always belongs to her children. And no matter how grown they are....they will always be our babes. Beautiful my friend! |
